At Eastbourne Gentle Dental we use the CEREC technology – we can design, fabricate and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit, a procedure that would normally take at least two weeks, if not more!
CEREC (CEramic REConstruction) is a revolutionary system that enables us to:
1. Scan and capture the area to be treaded
2. Create the restoration area as a 3D model on the computer
3. The restoration is then quickly milled directly in the practice
4. The finished new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay is finished and seated in your mouth a little while later.
Say goodbye to biting on impression material, having a numb mouth and a jaw ache. We now have a camera that can capture your full dentition in seconds and then transfer this to the computer.
With CEREC the final product – the crown is inserted directly without any temporary prosthesis.
CEREC enables us to insert aesthetic ceramic crowns or partial crowns in a single session. The advantage of this is that only one appointment is necessary, you can rely on quality that we have proven repeatedly in the practice. Your smile will be just as lovely many years later as it is directly after receiving the treatment.
The CEREC method is a gentle treatment for your teeth, we remove only the carious tooth surface and preserve the remaining healthy tooth substance. Due to the translucency of the ceramics and its hardness very close to the hardness of the natural tooth, the crown looks like a real tooth.
